What a whirl wind month August was. I left off on July 30th as I always set my Newsletter up a few days before the actual ‘send’ date.
July 30th I had finally found a time that both my granddaughter and I had free together. I had bought tickets for the play and buffet at Mayfield Inn. Most of you may have heard about it, as it was all over the news and ran for quite a long time. A two person play named Sleuth. I thoroughly enjoyed it as did my g’daughter Kirsten. Also, to my great delight the buffet had many vegan options that were not always the case at The Mayfield. I am truly happy to see that vegan is becoming part of a lot of people lives. Why anyone wants to eat a dead murdered animal has always been a bit of a puzzle to me when there are so many other options. People class humans as animals when it is discussed, yet there is horror if even one gets bit in the wild by another species of animals. Vegan is VERY healthy and few get cancer. Meat causes cancer as it is very obvious if you do the research. I digress!! And will carry on.
July 31st was super-duper busy with reads and due to booking a person at the wrong time I had to move her to this day. I really knew then that my choice of just booking two reads a day was correct for me. I have no wish to read all day at home.
Then I set up for the Blueberry Festival that I have to sadly say was nowhere near BVJ. [Big Valley Jamboree] Due to unprofessionalism on the part of the person who runs BVJ I chose not to do it this year. I then looked around for another festival to replace it. Blueberry showed up, the booths were 90% cheaper and unfortunately the type of people who are attracted to this festival are an older crowd, that although were fun loving, do not spend money at all. I packed up in the middle of the day on the second day and headed out. I did apologize to the person who worked with the vendors and he was fine with it. I normally do not pack up a show in the middle of it, but when you sit and do absolutely nothing, it is a waste of time. There have only been two other shows I have packed up and left from in my history of doing them. Next year I think I will sit out the long weekend and just enjoy myself at home.
I took myself to Heritage Days on the Monday and met up with a friend of mine named Julie. I was looking to purchase my African kaftans but once again the lady who sells them was not there. No one else seems to use the same Satan material that I like so much. I spent about three hours there and came home.
Then the Universe said ‘here have some work before the Fringe starts’. Every day I booked two people and in-between that I got ready for my upcoming 11 day festival. This entailed cooking, so that my meals were vegan and also that they could be able to be eaten cold as I would be bringing them to my tent. Making sure my pamphlets and business cards were Ok and that I had enough. Mowing my lawn, packing my van, getting the litter boxes all cleaned and set and so much more. Knowing you are out of the house for 14 hours you have to create the home so it is easy to come and go.
Then The Fringe started. YES!! A fabulous 11 days, but damp at a lot of times. I should have just wrapped my big fluffy blanket around me but I did not. I turned on my heater on chilly nights but my body started to tell me to ‘rest’. How? I never get sick, but if I run myself into too much work I get signs. First a tingle in the throat. Now normally I would just take a TV day in bed and my energy returns. This was not possible as I had three more days to go. I rested the best I could and the throat cleared quickly. BUT!!! Then my energy drained. I made it through the last two days and thanks to my friend Jackie, who really helped me pack up my tent, I got home on the Sunday night and crawled into bed and slept.
Monday I stayed in bed until noon and the only reason I got up was to take Venus to the vet. Then back to bed. My energy returned by Tuesday evening.
Vet you ask? Yes, Venus has had a mouth that seems to have moved as in TMJ. Her bones show weakness at the back and my vet and radiologist suspect bone cancer. She also has shadows in her lungs that are growing and my vet suspects lung cancer. As I wrote about a few months ago I thought of letting her go to the other side but could not do it. Watching her mouth, it became obvious that the two left eye teeth were crossing each other and causing the gums to bleed from the points. I took her in and had her blood done, more x-rays and arranged to have the top eye tooth out on the Tuesday. I sat at the vets while she was being worked on in case anything happened while she was under. Her heart is extremely strong and she came through like a champ. I took her home and today, Friday, three days later, although I still have her on pain killers still she seems to be OK. Next month I will let you know. I truly hope that she will now live out her final days with no pain to her gums.
Still resting up and so happy I turned down a show for Labor Day weekend. I think my body is crying to have rest and I know my cats LOVE me here. My home looks like a cyclone hit it and gradually we are returning it to normal.

In June I covered Pluto that is also retrograde right now. Uranus and Venus are also retrograde right now. July I covered Venus and August I covered Uranus.
So do we have enough planets going retrograde right now? Holy cow, life will be under a total reconstruction for many.Pluto and Saturn right now are ALL retrograde. Be patient till the Fall of 2019.
This month I have chosen to talk about Mars.
NATAL: Look to your birth chart to see where your natal Mars sits.
My chart is blessed with a 2nd house placement of Mars. I conjunct Jupiter, meaning they dance together. This guarantees good business sense and a MUST to work on my own. It also means I have no trouble working for my money and I will do that. It also indicates impulsive spending habits. Those who know me, know this. I never worry about money as I know I am always capable of creating the source when I need it. I always look to the past for indications of what will be. The past has always supplied me with enough. Therefore I know the future will do the same, as the future one day will be my past.
Basically where Mars sits in your birth chart, will indicate how you express your energies, assert yourself and where your strength for what it is you wish to go after, lies. Your determination is how I would call it.
1st House: You do not take the advice others. Very independent and very impulsive. A great house to have Mars sit in, as it indicates a physical robust and the love of sports. Your negative side will be impatience with others who do not move as quickly as you.
2nd House: I talked about that above, as my Mars sits in my second house.
3rd House: Very outspoken and have a way with words. Often can convince others with their words only. Negative side: They tend to jump to conclusion to quickly.
4th House: Often this placement will move far away from family. Leaves home early as they like to rule their own roost so to speak. Normally very good at ‘do it yourself’ projects and love their home areas.
5th House: Similar to the first house placement. Good at sports. They work well with children IF other placements in their charts show more balance. Negative side is their jealousy in romantic areas. They also have strong sexual drives.
6th House: This placement likes to accomplish things. They are very dedicated to precision and make good dentists, jewellers etc. Drive themselves very hard, and expects the same of others. Therefore they find it difficult to get along with others who do not work diligently.
7th House: In relationships this placement creates a high need for independence. Likes to have their own way and are difficult to have as a business partner.
8th House: Interesting placement and for those who study criminology you may wish to look at people charts that die by violence and see if they had an 8th house Mars placement. These people also make great doctors and have a strong passion for life and sex.
9th House: A high desire for travel and adventure. Little tolerance for others who view things differently from them. This can be altered if their other planetary placements differ and offer more open mindedness.
10th House: Here the placement often creates challenges with the Father. Other than that, the drive for career is very intense. A higher education is a plus for these folks. Very intense energy.
11th House: The social person who surrounds themselves with friends. The leader of the groups. Makes friends easily, but also loses them just as quickly by pushing too hard for them to keep up. Quite masculine in their energy.
12th House: Often the person who you will find hard to get to know. They keep a lot to themselves with their thoughts. Active imaginations. Contain a hidden anger that may surprise many when it surfaces.
